6th Stage Neuhof - Steinau

The weather is cool, but it's not raining at least at 12 degrees. We're starting at 8:30 am after breakfast, aiming for a total of 30 km today.

My mood is good so far, friends and family are contacting me daily on multiple channels. The morning phone call with Babsy is important: the further the distance, the closer the 100 days are.

First short break after 5 km at the Jewish cemetery in Flieden.

In Flieden - a predominantly Catholic area from Fulda - St. Goar, a brief chat with the pastoral assistant and the priest. Almost 40 first communion children!

Several candles will burn for me in the coming weeks 😊

The next destination is Rückers, one of the major pilgrimage sites in the Fulda region. Old traditions tell of the arduous journey of some merchants who were ambushed by robbers. The fleeing travelers called on the Holy Mary for help and vowed to donate a Mother of God image if they were saved. The rising fog saved the travelers 😊

Schlüchtern is reached at km 22.

Time for lunch break (iced coffee) and a short city tour.

In Niederzell, I met Heinz (80). Old socialist, talked about God and the world and got the key to the church.

Short way to Steinau and accommodation in the Burgmannenhaus 😊

Tomorrow to Gelnhausen, it's supposed to be 20 degrees 😢
