Variety in the soup kitchen

Publicado: 27.04.2018

On Wednesday, I went to the kindergarten with the twins again, where I worked for a week. But I noticed that I also wanted to do something extracurricular, so I went back to the soup kitchen for the past two days. I had been there during my last vacation and I actually started to like it more and more each day. It's nice to not have to constantly reprimand the children or give them tasks, but to be able to do something "good" for them (in the form of food). Yesterday morning, we were in the kitchen from 8-10 helping with cooking. The kitchen is located by a beautiful lake, so you can enjoy the view while working. After that, we were in the soup kitchen until 2 pm. Most of the time, I helped serve food or spent time with the children. Usually, the younger children are there in the morning and the older ones come in the afternoon after school. This means that the food distribution is relatively evenly spread out throughout the day, so there are also quieter times. However, since most of the children no longer go to school during the last week of school, almost all of the children were there from the beginning, so it was very stressful and the older children had to wait for a long time. There is only one room where the food is eaten, so the older children have to wait until the previous ones are done.

Today, I was brave and brought my camera with me, even though it's dangerous because it could get stolen on the way there. But it was so worth it. I keep realizing how much I enjoy taking photos here and I fell in love with the pictures right away, so I want to show you a few. 😍

Unfortunately, I've been feeling a bit sick for a few days now, so I'm going to take it easy this weekend and hope to get better by the time of my trip.

Kisses!! ❤️
