On our last full day in Tasmania, we drive to Bicheno, a small coastal town on the east coast of Tasmania.
We walk along the beach and come to the rock beach, where we observe the water fountain from the Bicheno Blowhole. Due to erosion, a cave has formed in the rock, and during rough waves, the water sprays out of the cave like a fountain. Dennis tries to capture the best video of this phenomenon and gets quite wet. Fortunately, the temperatures keep rising up to 29 degrees Celsius.
We then stop at Richardsons Beach in the middle of the Coles Bay Reservation Area and enjoy the great view of the clear, blue water.
Next, we come across Wineglass Bay and see two fishermen pulling a small shark out of the water. Thankfully, they throw it back (hopefully unharmed 😣).
We stop at a lookout point in the Devil's Corner wine region. There, we can taste wine and enjoy cheese platters and small hot dishes.
We continue to Triabunna but unfortunately miss the last ferry to Maria Island. After a few final stops in the beautiful nature of Tasmania, we reach our last accommodation in Richmond. The small town is only 13 kilometers away from Hobart Airport, from where we will fly back to Melbourne tomorrow. We are just in time for dinner at the only restaurant in town, which closes at 7 pm. We are looking forward to being able to have dinner after 8 pm in Germany again.
