We took a trip inland to see more of Tuscany. Unfortunately, Martin chose a route through the villages and we girls got sick as a result. But after about 2 hours of driving - and passing through Rosia - briefly thinking about work ;-) we finally arrived in Monteriggioni. Beautiful little village where you could look out into the countryside from the city walls. The church was being decorated with flowers - probably for a wedding. After the girls had persuaded us to buy Tasmanian plush devils, we continued to Siena. There we visited the cathedral. Another magnificent and impressive building. Then we strolled to the 'Piazza del Campo' square with the 'Palazzo Pubblico' town hall. Huge square, slightly sloping, and probably used for horse races twice a year.
