Almost something like home

Easter is family time. There is nothing spectacular to say about it, it was a beautiful and peaceful Easter.

However, today I treated myself to a day in a spa that was completely overpriced for the service provided. The reason for this was a voucher from 2008 that I finally wanted to redeem... I still had to pay a little extra, inflation is clearly noticeable everywhere. But that's okay, I also treated myself to a massage. If you're going to do it, do it right. Feeling a little decadent once in a while is nice. It was raining outside, so I timed it well.

A few hours later, I was completely relaxed again, enjoying the warm sunshine at over 10°C. In the city, the first tentative queues formed in front of the ice cream parlors, people let the sun warm their faces, and from time to time a faint scent of flowers reached my nose. Simply wonderful. A delicious coffee and the faint singing of birds in the background completed these sensory impressions. How good that I had arranged to meet my best friend! So we took snacks, wine, and a picnic blanket outside, and went to the pier! (This also marked the beginning of the 'pier season' for her.) What could be better than enjoying the sunset over Bonn from the Rhine with baguette, olives, stuffed peppers, feta cheese, and a tasty white wine – with a slight rocking motion for added atmosphere – together with such a wonderful conversation partner? [Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of this wonderful scenery because we were both too busy soaking it all in. ;) ]

Dear Jaco, our meetings are too rare, but they are always something very special to me. Thank you for this truly wonderful evening, it rounded off a very beautiful day perfectly.
