We are slowly getting closer to my idea of vacation. After we took the bus to the fashionable neighboring town of San Carlos, I set off into nature with Paul. As requested, we left Dietmar behind on the beach. For now we passed expensive villas, which are just like everywhere else. Except that here they grow into the desert and displace the bungalows and permanent campers there (of a different size than in Germany). Afterwards we went through the usual, scrubby desert until we arrived at the canyon with 1 bottle of water and 1.5 hours later. For $50 each (approx. €3) we were allowed in and over hill and dale, through small oases, and there was also a bit of climbing. I'd love to take a day off like that.
For the way back we took a trail towards San Carlos, where we were rewarded with more varied vegetation; probably because the path wound along a dry riverbed. Finally, we walked between the middle-class villas across a rather "desolate" golf course, which could actually only be recognized by the course signs. Well, it looked pretty damn neat... except for the bull with his two cows, who trotted happily across the square.
Hungry as bears, we plunged into a street kitchen and quesadillos. There is always a selection of salads and sauces on offer, which make every meal extremely tasty. I was slowly getting cold and the ride in the airy bus made me shiver quite a bit, which the warm shower had to take care of.
