We spent a whopping 8 nights in one place... 7 whole days... peaceful days, without turning over a single stone, without long hikes or bike rides... What's happening to us??? ... a little chat here, a little chat there... Last but not least, there was a great excursion tip and we spent the evening in Vejer de la Frontera, a wonderful, white-washed, very Moorish mountain village. And on recommendation, we treated ourselves very well in the 'Casa del Califa'. We tasted our way through all the Moroccan delicacies until we rolled round, paper-full and happy back to the campsite. 'But tomorrow we really continue!' -
Goodbye :-( ... well we haven't had that for a long time. See you! Of course, for sure! (where exactly?!?! - doesn't matter - sounds good) ... to Malaga and 16.12. there is still a lot to discover, so let's go now!!!
Bolonia - the Romans had settled here already 2 centuries BC, mainly to process their tuna catch. You can still see large pools, among other things, where the fish was salted before it went on its journey to Rome. A forum, an amphitheater, thermal baths, fountains, an aqueduct - everything can still be recognized. In the 7th century, Baelo Claudia had passed its zenith and the city was abandoned, so the Moors didn't have to make much effort to conquer the Iberian Peninsula from there. We left the city as well and found our starting point for further explorations a few kilometers further east in Valdevaqueros. The mountains behind us, the sea in front of us, Tarifa, Africa, dune... there is a lot of new things waiting for us (and for you ,-))
