Here I want to present to you the historical buildings that Monguí has. Let's take a look at the following buildings:
The Royal Bridge of Calicanto,
The Chapel of San Antonio de Padua, and the Minor Basilica of Our Lady.
The Royal Bridge of Calicanto was built in the 17th century. It is a reflection of the colonial era in the center of Colombia, and its function was to transport stones with which the Basilica of Our Lady was built.
The Chapel of San Antonio de Padua was the first church built in Monguí and is considered a national monument today.
The Minor Basilica of Our Lady was initially built in 1603. It was a small single-naved church, designed to house the painting of Our Lady. It was built with stone brought from Peña de Otí.
