A ferry port... What does it have to offer? That's what I thought... But I could already discover a lot on the next day.
During excavations, it was found that Brindisi was already settled 1500 years BC. During the Roman period, the city was already a naval base.
The nice museum guard even showed me a cross that is said to come from the Templar Order.
In between, I went to the harbor, to admire ships big and small.
One version of our possible retirement time drives by me...
Here you can admire many interesting garden areas, impressive churches and temple complexes.
And Italians also have a sense of humor!
Hope the screws don't rust in the salty air!
Well, okay, only to the ferry. And there it is.
And this is my route, which the ancient Romans used as well...
At least until Patras.
And they all have to fit in there??😱
I should actually share my cabin with three other girls, but at first I was alone. Finally, an older Italian lady joined me. Everything is great!
We leave the Italian mainland.
The next morning, we are already in the middle of the Greek island world.
And then we are already in Patras! Now I will take a 3-hour express bus to Athens. I will be accompanied by an English couple who had the same idea as me, only they started in Yorkshire. Time of return: uncertain!! Cool thing! Then our paths will separate again. In the evening, I will walk through the old town of Athens.
Since I don't live far away, I naturally have to take a look at the Acropolis in the evening light.
There it is!After a delicious Taramas salad and an octopus with pea puree (divers please ignore), I go satisfied to my apartment. See you tomorrow!
