Publicado: 30.11.2019

Atlanta is the capital and largest city of the state of Georgia in the United States. It played a role during the American Civil War and the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. Additionally, Atlanta is home to the airport with the highest passenger traffic in the world, and the Olympic Games were held here in 1996. There is plenty to discover in the city. However, today we decided to skip the historical sights and instead visited the Georgia Aquarium and the Coca-Cola World. The aquarium, which opened in 2005 and is constantly expanding, features a sea lion and dolphin show, smaller aquariums with colorful tropical fish, freshwater fish, and beluga whales. The highlight is the aquarium with whale sharks, batfish, manta rays, and trumpetfish. It is filled with 30,000 cubic meters of saltwater, making it the largest aquarium in the world.

Next, we went to Coca-Cola World. By chance, John Pemberton invented Coca-Cola in Atlanta on May 8, 1886. The colorful company museum showcases pop art and a plethora of exhibits from yesterday and today. We learned about the history of the world's most famous beverage brand and stood in the vault where the secret Coca-Cola formula is kept. Finally, it was time for tastings. We had the opportunity to try over 100 different drinks from around the world.
