With fast tires, I headed towards Alsace. The navigation was unnecessary again, I could simply continue following the Rhine Cycle Path upstream. Since I spent the morning in Speyer, I didn't quite make it to Strasbourg, but that was not a problem at all. I simply enjoyed the flat route and the lighter luggage also made a difference.
At times, the route already led through nature reserves on the French side. In the evening, however, I headed back to a campsite in Germany, this time near Rheinmünster. Wild camping has its charms too, but in midsummer, a cold shower alone is worth the camping fees after 100 kilometers or more. And clean water for cooking and drinking in the evening is pure luxury. Accordingly, a big meal was cooked again to replenish the calories consumed during the day.
