This morning we took the ferry from Stari Grad to Split. We had coffee on the ferry, it was a 2 hour journey. Then we went from the big ferry port in Split across the mainland, away from the coast, towards Sibenik. The weather and the route were pretty mixed. Sunny in the morning, cloudy in the afternoon, a few drops of rain in the evening. The route had everything, busy roads, lonely tarmac roads, dirt roads that were easy to ride and some that no longer existed. Long live the sat nav. I booked a cheap room just before the end, the weather forecast wasn't so good for a tent. The room is in the middle of the old town though and can only be reached via a lot of stairs. The bike has to sleep in the old town alley. Oh yes, I need to wash it, I also found a laundry at the bus station, was greeted by the bums straight away, didn't feel like hanging out with them for an hour or two. I'll wash it somewhere else.
The town has a beautiful old town, and although the Croatians don't celebrate Pentecost like we do, a Croatian men's choir led by the priest sang in front of the church - lovely.
