368 meters and 1048 steps

Hey friends!

Today Mareike and I spent the whole day apart. Since she's not feeling well due to the high dose of tablets, or she gets tired quickly because of it, I went to Koko Head alone with Manu and Philipp (the two German guys).

We took the bus for about 45 minutes to the bus stop and then walked for about ten minutes to the starting point of Koko Head. Then, 368 meters and 1048 steps awaited us for 38 minutes. ⛰😅 We took a break in between because the steps were sometimes so high and steep that we expect muscle soreness tomorrow.

When we reached the top, we saw nothing, absolutely nothing! It was cloudy and you could only partially see something. However, we had time because our bus back didn't leave for another 2 1/2 hours, so we decided to wait a bit until the fog cleared. And waiting was worth it. After about 20 minutes, we could finally enjoy the view and got the 'reward' for the exhausting hike. 😇 We took some pictures (including with a drone that Manu flew) and enjoyed the view.

After about 1 1/2 hours, we started our way back down and actually took almost the same amount of time to go down as we had taken to go up. It was sometimes so steep and slippery that we had to climb down on all fours.

When we arrived at the bottom, we went to the bus and drove back to our hostel for about 45 minutes.

When I arrived there with the guys, Mareike wasn't there, she was having ice cream with Lucy (a German girl). So I decided to get on the bus again and go alone to Iolani Palace. 🏰 There I could see the main venue of Hawaii Five-0 from the outside and inside (little fan-girl moment). 🤩

When I drove back to the hostel, it started pouring rain! 🌧 The distance between the bus stop and the hostel is about 200 meters, which I walked and got completely wet, even my underwear! 😅 Then I took a shower to warm up.

After that, Mareike also came back from her little trip, we exchanged our day and then cooked dinner. 🍝

Afterwards, we played several rounds of UNO with the others, we have become a little travel group. 🃏
