Day 10 Drive through the Rockies and the Great Sand Dunes near Alamosa

The second, larger loop starts in Fort Collins. We reach the Rocky Mountains via Denver. We ascend the Hossir Pass and then drive along a beautiful high plateau, always above 3000 m. The Indian Summer has already begun. After a picnic, we headed to the Great Sand Dunes. It was an amazing experience; I had to climb a dune right away. The shadow cast by the dunes is fantastic with the low sun. Some sledders raced down the dunes. Now it was not far to Alamosa where we stayed at a nice hotel.
