Penang - Streetart and Streetfood in Georgetown

Foillsichte: 18.08.2017

This time I was really surprised by the bus ride. It was much more civilized than the outbound journey and I finally relaxed while traveling by bus. When I arrived at the bus station in Penang, I shared a taxi with three others and we drove to Georgetown together. My hostel room was extremely noisy, I felt like I was lying on the sidewalk with my bed, but other than that it was completely fine. I was completely unmotivated to do anything and decided to lie down for a while. Eventually, I motivated myself and started my exploration of Georgetown and went in search of the various street art. So I wandered around the city for three hours and was fascinated by the nice atmosphere. Back at the hostel, I took a shower and then Ulli and Clara and I went out to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the street food stalls and then sip some cocktails. After it started raining heavily again, we decided to head back.

The woman at the hostel recommended a café where you could apparently have a very delicious breakfast, so we decided to go there the next morning. It was really really tasty and had a very relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately, the two of them continued their journey in the early afternoon and I was basically waiting for my next meeting with the two Swiss girls. Adrina and Jasmina picked me up and our destination was Little India. First of all, Indian food again, yay! And then I really wanted to get a henna tattoo on the inside of my hand. In the end, I got two, but I just love them. After the henna had dried and we were able to wash it off, we were ready to eat again. The street food in Georgetown is definitely worth it - so many different things in small portions, so you can try a lot. Full and satisfied, we headed back because I still had to pack, as the next morning we were already leaving for the airport at 06:30 am - off to Singapore!
