We arrived safely in Khao Lak. The flight from Samui was quiet — Kian slept again and the ride to the hotel in our rental car was easy. Siar is a great driver ❤️
When we arrived at the hotel we waited for mom and dad. At around 5:30 p.m. it was time to see each other again. After 6.5 weeks we were finally able to hug them both again.
Kian was completely confused at first but after a short while he smiled and was happy to finally have grandma and grandpa back.
And Khao Lak? It's definitely full of German tourists. That scares us a bit at the moment, but today we should still go on a big tour of discovery.
First stop: White Sand Beach. That was a bit of a culture shock. Mom and Dad came from a lonely tour of Thailand and Siar and I from our idyllic bay on Phangan. And so the White Sand Beach shocked us at first.
On the beach area, which was really tiny due to the tide, there were loungers after loungers after loungers. I hate it 😂 if I owned a coastal state, I would forbid putting loungers on the beach — it just looks ugly.
A few meters further we were able to spread out our blankets in nature and bathe. That was really nice, even though the water here is really warm.
Our second stop was to be Khuk Khak beach. But unfortunately there was no shade to chill at the first stop. So we decided to drive to a restaurant to have lunch.
And there at Be Friend not only the food was top notch but also the beach. The water was not turquoise and clear, but rather swirled up by the sand and rather green. But the sandy beach, which stretches for what feels like 30 kilometers, is wonderful.
We bathed and had a good time. Mom and I were still having the massage and Kian laughed with grandma and grandpa almost the whole day — so nice to see.
Back at the hotel we all treated ourselves to a dip in the pool.
For dinner we went to a restaurant around the corner. It had been raining so heavily beforehand that we didn't want to walk so far away from the hotel.
In the end it stayed dry, but the food was first class. Thai noodles, sweet and sour chicken, chicken cashew or chicken basil — all great! Mango sticky rice was also excellent again. We will definitely go there again.
Tomorrow we want to explore more beaches. It's a shame Bio and Freddy aren't there. We're missing those two in our group. But we always have them both in our hearts ❤️
Ps: Kian drove again today.
