Lunch was at the same place as breakfast. And it was a buffet again. A really big selection. And everything was very tasty. Lots of vegetables, pasta, meat and even dessert. And just the thing after a hike like this. I spoke to a girl from Canada who will be traveling in Peru for a month. It's amazing that many of the people I met were traveling for more than a month and then mostly visited different countries here. And I think I've said this before, that there are really a lot of Germans here. After dinner it started to rain, but we were back in the van. The journey took almost 2 hours and that's sometimes the case if you want to organize trips here on your own. Because you have to rely on a car and even though I've already driven abroad, I wouldn't have dared to take the route for the hike today. It feels like there are potholes and other bumps every 50 meters. And then we drove up the mountain a bit and without oncoming traffic it was crazy, but when there's a bus in front of you, you have to stay cool and drive backwards for 200 meters. But I've learned a lot about how things work here and I'm definitely looking forward to coming back and doing a few things differently. When we arrived we said goodbye and I went to the accommodation, took a shower and chilled out briefly in the hotel. Then I went out again and sat in the sun. Afterwards I went to a café and sat on the terrace upstairs. There you have a good view of the main street. And the coffee, which was really good, only cost €1.75. If I think that here in Cologne a coffee in the city center can sometimes cost €5, you can say that it is more expensive here than expected, but you can still eat cheaply and if you eat street food and at the market If you eat, there are also entire menus for 10 soles (€2.50), i.e. starter, main course and drink. I love trying out new cuisines, but here in Peru, and especially in Cusco, there are so many restaurants that serve guinea pigs. And I wouldn't try that. Alpaca meat also doesn't appeal to me. Afterwards I went to a burger shop that I discovered spontaneously. The other store was closed. The burgers tasted delicious, but it took almost 40 minutes and unfortunately both meat patties were cooked through. But they looked nice and the buns were really good. Then I walked home and chilled out in the hotel for a bit. It was a nice day again and I could definitely have stayed longer in Cusco, although I'm also looking forward to Lima. And tomorrow the flight. And in Lima the weather is getting much better again and I will definitely do more activity there. And I have to visit the Barranco district. That should be really nice.
With that in mind, I'll get back to you tomorrow :)
