Day 31 An adventure comes to an end...

Foillsichte: 03.05.2017

We are back in Johannesburg. The last 24 days were simply fantastic. It is hard to put into words. I have experienced and seen so much and met so many nice people. Sitting by a cool beer at the campfire or going on game drives were just individual puzzle pieces that made the picture perfect.

A big thank you goes out to our driver, cook, and guide Chronje. He conjured up excellent food from our mobile kitchen every day

and always safely drove us from A to B, no matter how bad the roads were. He also joyfully talked about history, politics, and nature. He had an answer to almost every question.

The accommodations were also a lot of fun. Whether it was in a tent at different campsites or on the river banks

or in the lodges that we were able to call our home at short notice.

The tour took me to 5 different countries in southern Africa in the 24 days and got me 16 stamps in my passport. 4 pages were used for the various visas.

I was also lucky to be in a good (small) group. Since we were only 5 tourists, we had plenty of space in the truck, which is designed for 17 tourists, and could spread out.
The group worked quite well and there was always something to discuss and laugh about. I had a great time.

I can highly recommend the Drifters tours. They do it right.

So now I am sitting in the lodge in Jo'burg and looking forward with a laughing and a crying eye.
Crying because I had a great time in the last 24 days and will miss the group and the trips and everything. But also with a laughing eye because my adventure is far from over. I still have a few days in Jo'burg and then it's off to Namibia.

Let's the show go on
