Since today our gang 'complete'. It consists of a Finn, a Dutchman and 4 German girls. After driving around together on a scooter yesterday, I was very relieved that we now only had to sit two by two on a scooter.
Our first destination should be a waterfall again, where you can supposedly swim. However, when we arrived there, we were very disappointed. We found a small pond and on the rock wall you could only see wet spots.
Then we went to Land Split. This is a huge crack in the earth's surface that gets bigger every year - probably due to plate movements. The area where the crack is located is cultivated by a farmer. For a small donation, we got a very tasty homemade iced tea, a homemade brandy and finger food. Of course, everything was made by ourselves. After we had strengthened ourselves, we made our way to the crack, which you could even walk through. Especially for me, as a geography teacher, a very interesting phenomenon.
Our next destination should be a cave, which is 50km away from Pai. Unfortunately, we underestimated the time it took us with the scooters. After 13 km we realized that it was simply too far. But on the way, we saw a sign that led to the Hot Springs. Since we didn't have the opportunity to go swimming at the waterfall, we decided to go to the Hot Springs. This turned out to be a good idea. There were 3 step-like pools where you could enjoy the warm water. It was so nice that we spent a whole 90 minutes in the water and then had to hurry quickly so as not to drive to the hostel in the dark.
For dinner, we tried a Thai 'specialty' this time. It was a kind of raclette with a moat around it, where you can cook vegetables and noodles.
My conclusion: Very interesting but I don't need it again.
