CELEBRATIONTIME! 😎🤗👸🏾🌈☀️🎂🎉🎊

In the early morning hours, we started Connys birthday and set off groggily to Lake Matheson, which uniquely reflects the mountain world in its face, especially in the early morning. Unfortunately, not a secret tip! Therefore, in the morning, we had to fight for a coveted photo at the lake in an extensive elbow fight with numerous Asians and their DSLR cameras including tripods. 😉🤳🏼📸

When we thought we had enough photos in the can, we went directly to the next scenic highlight: the Fox Glacier! On the short hiking trail to the glacier viewpoint, our path led past huge rock walls with powerful waterfalls and small rivers that reminded us of scenes from the movie Ice Age. How fitting, as the glacier continues to retreat and will soon completely transition into water!

But that's not all! On Conny's birthday, we continued driving south on the highway until we reached civilization again in the sweet town of Wanka. Conny was faced with new challenges on Stand-Up Paddleboards at Lake Wanaka for her new year of life, and we enjoyed the sunset 🌅 We ended the day at the Italian restaurant with an XXL chocolate dessert. 😻🤤
