No mosquitoes, only a half-hearted nocturnal rebellion of the Reds and a short 4 km morning run through the Croatian hills. Overall, a satisfying, rather unspectacular start to a completely unplanned day.
With breakfast in our stomachs, we wanted to borrow some beach towels at the reception. On the way there, we got into a conversation with an Indian couple from Basel, who were staying in the bungalow next door with their sweet daughter Ria for the week. Ria is just under three months younger than Ida, but otherwise the two seem to differ only visually. 'One ass and one head', as my grandpa would have said. 'I want to sit next to Ria', Ida announced after a very short time, and Ria also stuck to Ida, while Lars and I could chat calmly with Joji and Joda. And indeed, J&J and L&L got along splendidly with each other. So we are beginning to recognize and appreciate the advantages of an AI vacation.
Except for the necessary lunch break, during which Lars ran 10 km, we spent the day with our new holiday acquaintances. The girls splashed wonderfully in the pool, played happily together after lunch (who would have thought that an automatic sliding door could occupy two three-year-olds for minutes?!?) and gave us four the time to have adult conversations. Politics instead of dolls, rental prices instead of monsters, and travel destinations as an alternative to everyday hustle and bustle. Even if it was only an hour - we all enjoyed it very much.
In the afternoon, the six of us strolled to the sea, although Ria refused to go into the water. Apparently, her origin prevailed, the sea is simply too cold here. Ida didn't care much, but she's used to Lake Bikow.
In the beautiful afternoon sun, we frolicked extensively in the crystal clear water, jumped on the floating trampoline, giggled and screamed with delight, and were simply happy.
After a joint dinner for six on the terrace, our day has come to an end. We are looking forward to tomorrow when there will be a knock on the door and a new unplanned vacation day will begin with a shared breakfast and lots of children's laughter.
