Today we're having a good night's sleep for once, but unfortunately Jan is still suffering. We set off in a relaxed manner around half past eleven - we'll go across the island.
On the almost three-hour drive we see several landslides that partially block the road. Jan definitely lost a rally driver, the winding mountain roads are ideal for this. (Not for our weak stomachs though).
We arrive early at the most beautiful campsite so far, Cala Ginepro. The bar serves cold beer and calzones. That alone is enough to make you happy, but in addition you can get to two different beaches from two exits here.
At one of them (Spiaggia di Sa Mattanosa) we sink until the evening. The sand is white and soft, and the water is shallow and turquoise. We play with the most colorful ball in the world, let ourselves drift and marvel at the hazy blue mountain ranges that surround us.
At some point it gets cool and we walk back to the tent. There's definitely no pleasant surprise waiting here, we're basically walking into a mosquito colony. After a quick shower and wearing a full-body condom, we light 5 incense sticks and drown ourselves in Autan. So we can still cook our pasta on the camping stove and treat ourselves to a bottle of red wine.
