Ninth stage

... from Wittenberge to Hitzacker on Tuesday, April 23, 2019

After being woken up by the sun, we enjoyed breakfast with a beautiful view of the Elbe. With a heavy heart, we said goodbye to the very nice guesthouse and hopped back on our bikes.

Today we made good progress, although the wind almost blew us away at times.

Especially on the dike and on the bridges, we had to hold on to the handlebars tightly.

After 50 km, we arrived in Dömtz and had another delicious lunch break. Since Hitzacker was only 21 km away, we decided to continue and see if we could make it there.

We arrived in Hitzacker at 4 pm, wind-blown, and our odometer showed 80 km.

Of course, we explored the picturesque old town.

This section of the Elbe Cycle Path is one of the most beautiful. A varied nature with a rich birdlife and absolute tranquility invite you to linger and observe.
