So, after a hearty breakfast, we took a short walk to the city center of Batumi. There were interesting cars to see. From total junk to extremely expensive, everything was there. With the modified Mercedes, some of the police officers in Dresden would surely be thrilled. Many greetings to him back home with these pictures...
Afterwards, we headed to Kutaisi. The vegetation was splendid, and the mountains in the distance were inviting. Occasionally, there were cows standing on the road. The drive went well, and 70/80 is a pleasant speed here too. The roads are mostly in good condition.
And then there was a level crossing with a STOP sign and police on the roadside. So the undersigned stopped particularly conscientiously and for a sufficient duration at the sight line, there was no stopping line.
It was clear, shortly afterwards the siren came. I pretended to be foolish and showed no knowledge of foreign languages, based on my experience. Unfortunately, the sheriff has a well-functioning translation app that actually translates the same thing that I already understood (stop 15m before the sign and not just before the tracks, minimum fine 50 Lari). My alleged mistake is that I did not stop at the sign. That's the rule in Georgia, supposedly. He allegedly filmed it, but can't show me the video. Well, I got a receipt, 50 Georgian Lari is about 17 Euros. I have a month to pay. I have to think about it, somehow I feel like he wanted to rip me off. I even discussed with my fellow passenger during the approach that we are probably the only ones who will stop. And that's exactly what happened, probably that was the mistake.
But let's not get upset, maybe it's my contribution to road safety...
Then we picked up Roy, my other fellow passenger, at the airport in Kutaisi and now we have taken a hotel in Kutaisi.
24 Euros in total for three people with breakfast and supervised parking, I think that's a good deal.
As a conclusion, we had a cozy restaurant in the city center with live music and a little stroll through the city.
Today we covered 154 km.
