It feels strange to be so far away from home. The hostel is crowded with Germans, but as always, I find it difficult to meet new people. I exchange a few words with my roommates, but a real conversation doesn't happen.
During my exploration of the city, I discovered a car mile that makes every petrol head's heart beat faster: Mercedes + AMG, BMW M, Ferrari, Maserati, VW, Audi, Porsche, and Alpha Romeo.
I also discovered a park where "Christmas in the Park" took place on Saturday, a celebration with a huge stage where Christmas songs are sung. I left the park after about an hour because Christmas songs quickly become annoying at 20 degrees.
Today, Monday, while waiting for my bank card, I discovered in my passport that I only have a visitor visa for a stay of 3 months, nothing more. After a lot of back and forth and half an hour of waiting at the Immigration Center, I learned that it's not as bad as I initially thought and that I can stay in the country for a normal 12 months.
For the next few days, I will wait for my tax number and continue to explore Auckland, maybe I will find something exciting. By the way, the New Zealanders are incredibly nice and cheerful. Every time you enter a store, no matter which one, you are asked how you're doing first.
