Airle Beach to Bunderberg

Foilsithe: 01.12.2019

So beautifully written... so much happens every day that it's not easy to always write something good!

After two more days in Airle Beach where we made really nice acquaintances, including locals, we continued to Harvey Bay where we were told we could see wild kangaroos on the beach - of course we had to go there!

We also met a girl from Namibia on our sailing trip who had the same travel route as us, so we asked her if she would like to continue traveling with us to Nossa. She was very happy and so we were three now!

As I said, we went to Kangaroo Island... We had to get up at 4 a.m. there to see the kangaroos or rather wobats (smaller type of kangaroos). And indeed there were a few of the cute two-legged creatures to see on the beach. We enjoyed the sunrise and watched the kangaroos 😍

After a good breakfast, the longest car ride on the east coast lay ahead of us, about 8 hours and about 500 km to Seventeen Seventy where we enjoyed the sunset and made ourselves comfortable on a cozy camping site

After a breakfast with a magnificent view, we continued south. Our destination was Nossa, a cozy surfer town. But in order not to drive for so many hours again, we decided to make a stopover in Bunderberg and visit the most famous rum distillery in Australia. A great museum that you should definitely visit if you are in the area!

After the rum factory, we wanted to continue driving after a short stop for refueling and eating, but we had a little mishap with the camper that kept us in Bunderberg for 2 more days 😬 but tomorrow we would continue to Nossa and Fraser Island!!!
