Day 5/29 - from Cape Town via Betty's Bay to Swellendam

Today we set off from Cape Town to Swellendam with both a laughing and a crying eye.
We made a stopover in Betty's Bay, where we were able to see a few penguins 🐧 on the beach.
The journey was super tiring today. Thanks to the 37 degrees and the defective air conditioning in the car, the almost 4 hours stretched like chewing gum 😫But the landscape was very varied and incredibly wide and beautiful 🤩
Now we have arrived at our new “vacation home” for the next 2 nights and were immediately greeted by the 3 donkeys 🫏 (one of which is called Sebastian 😂), the two sheep 🐑 and a bunch of chickens 🐓. Anni was very lucky and first fed the donkeys a few carrots. Then we quickly went into the pool to cool down 💦
Basti was still shopping and made a fire in the brick grill. We're now doing Braai 🥩, that's what the South Africans call grilling on a wood fire. Braai is the only word that is understood in all 11 official languages of the country. Accordingly, grilling together is given great importance here. Braai stands for unity, tradition and solidarity across all racial ethnicities and social classes 🧡

Das gefällt mir, Braai. Ist auch bei uns schön. Das glaube ich, dass das mit den vielen Tieren Anni gefällt. Ja, das sollten wir viel öfter machen 😊
