Despite the uneasy atmosphere at the rest area, we survive another night without any further incidents - even though there was a lot of storms and rain.

We drive the narrow steep path back a little and let our navigation device guide us to a parking bay from where we can hike to a 'natural bridge'. Just before we want to start, it starts to hail, so we arm ourselves with raincoats, wait for the worst precipitation to pass and then start walking. The path clings directly to a cliff and through a gorge. We walk over the wooden walkways and bridges and then stand in front of the large, gray natural rock bridge, which, as we later learn, used to be a cave, but the rest collapsed.

Very impressed, we walk through the vault and then walk back to the car via the circular path. Meanwhile, Petrus opens his floodgates and we get soaked, including a face peeling by hail. Even individual lightning strikes somewhere a few kilometers away from us and contribute to the apocalyptic atmosphere with a threatening rumble.

Once safely back in the car, we continue our journey, including greenhouse climate in the cockpit, and stop at the next rest area, a mix of supermarket, gas station and cafe - a bit like imagining lonely American highway diners. We order coffee and get to work (writing on the blog, etc.) The evening slowly approaches and since the weather has now turned into a solid and persistent storm, we get ourselves some fish & chips for dinner, retreat into our camper and watch a series.
