Day 32 - Lotus Loft here we come

Publisearre: 15.12.2016

12/14/16

It's time to move on to the next island. We're heading to Kauai! We wake up, pack our things, and have a quick breakfast. We hurry down and wait for our shuttle bus to the airport. After a few minutes, the bus arrives. At the airport, we have to check in our own luggage. Since it's a bit overweight, we have to correct it with a little trick - hehe.

Then we board the plane (Boeing 717, a bit smaller than the previous ones), which is greatly overcrowded with about 40 people - meaning it's empty. So everything goes very quickly after the gate opens: boarding (10 minutes), flight (35 minutes including takeoff), baggage claim, and leaving the airport (another 10 minutes).

Now we're off to the car rental to get a vehicle again. After the formalities, we're instructed as follows: 'Do you see that white car over there? Just take one car in this row, which is the same model as this one. The cars are all open and keys inside'. Okay... so we'll just take one. Unfortunately, we need two tries. The first one has a broken radio, so we switch. An awesome vehicle: Unlike the Jucy, our 'Kasey Jay' (pronounced K-C-J) is a youngster. Registered in July 2016 and only 6000 miles on it. PS. We'll explain the name another time ;-)

Now that we're mobile again, we make our way to the apartment. After the rather disappointing accommodation in Waikiki (it was OK), we're pleasantly surprised. A little paradise in the jungle, lovingly and stylishly furnished! Tomorrow we'll explore the surroundings of Lotus Loft (LL). So for today, it's time to rest and enjoy the heavenly bed...
