The city names may not mean much to you, but I don't have a better summary for the past few days in Vietnam. So it's also a good reminder for me and an inspiration for future visits to Vietnam for some of you. 😊
Also, my friend and best travel buddy (sometimes not 😉) arrived and will accompany me for the next few weeks.
Long Hai: a simple fishing village by the sea, 100km away from Saigon. What I realize afterwards is how little you actually need to get by here and how simple life is. It has its advantages and disadvantages. But you can see that they make the best of everything and can sustain themselves with everything that grows and is harvested nearby. At first, it seemed poor to me, but I think that's the wrong word. It's just simple. They start burying themselves in the mud on the beach at 5 a.m. because it's good for their joints.
Quy Nhon: similar feeling to Bern. Very cozy and no one asking for extra money just because you're a tourist. I rode a scooter for the first time here in Vietnam and now I love it. Beautiful beaches and jungle mountains right next door. Again, not many foreign tourists, good coffee, and better water than in Long Hai.
Da Lat: 10 degrees cooler than the sea because Da Lat is at 1500m in the mountains. Known for year-round spring-like weather and therefore the only region with strawberry greenhouses. It feels like 60% of the city is made up of greenhouses. But otherwise a very beautiful, clean, and nice city as a starting point for hikes through coffee plantations, pine trees, and the jungle. Definitely a place where I might want to revisit later on my trip.
From there, we'll fly to the next country... ♥️
