The magical morning continues as we look forward to a beautiful beach in the small coastal town of Coral Bay. We spend the whole day swimming, sleeping, and snorkeling. From the beach, there are many different fish and colorful corals to see. The day ends with a cozy picnic by the sea, with a plate of pasta with tomato sauce, the typical backpacker meal. We always add garlic seasoning and Parmesan cheese to it. We stay for another night to make use of our snorkeling equipment here the next day, and decide against driving to Exmouth to save on kilometers, fuel, and time. The next day, we venture out further into the sea and see larger fish, schools of little blue fish, and even a stingray. We also brought the action cam along for some underwater pictures. We get ready for the journey and just want to inflate a tire again, when we realize that the air we pump in immediately escapes with a hiss. Damn. It's flat. Moritz gets the spare tire, inflates it, and... also flat. We always wanted to do that, but as it turns out, something always got in the way. So the onward journey unfortunately cannot start. We drive back to the campsite and ask for a mechanic there. Unfortunately, the nearest one is in Exmouth, 140 km away. The guy advises us to apply for a membership with the RAC, the Australian ADAC, and wait for 48 hours, as it is more expensive to sign up and immediately receive a service. I read through the website and decide to call directly. The lady was very nice and answered all my questions in detail. I became a member and called again the next day after asking for suitable tires at a tire shop in Exmouth. Around 11 a.m., the tow truck arrived directly at the campsite. The ride in the truck with air conditioning was super relaxed, and we had a good conversation with the driver. About 1.5 hours later, we arrived at a small tire shop, where two men kindly welcomed us and immediately changed the tires on our van. After half an hour, we were ready to hit the road again. We explored Exmouth, had delicious sandwiches at the bakery, and then set off in the late afternoon. As I write these lines, we are still on our way to the campsite. The air is getting more pleasant, the sun is setting slowly, and we're in a good mood. We may be a few dollars poorer, but it could have been worse.
Always stay positive😊
