The day started with me going to the Southern Cross Station as I was planning to go to the beach in St. Kilda by bike. There I was, checking the conditions for bike renting. It was 2.90 $ for the day which is basically a good price but the conditions were that you need to dock on the bike at a station every 30 minutes, otherwise you have to pay overtime. Though I decided not to rent the bike but to take the tram because I didn't want to look for a bike station every half an hour instead of enjoying the view. It took only a few minutes to get to St. Kilda where you also have the Luna Park, one the oldest amusement parks in Australia with its particular face as an entrance. The weather wasn't very good when I left the house but it changed over the day and got real hot. I wanted to visit the Luna Park but unfortunately it was closed for private function, that means I have to return another day to check the interior of it.
I walked down the beach and admired the wonderful view of the bay and the water. It got nicer and nicer and the sun was coming out, it was actually pretty hot after a while and to my disadvantage I even had sunburned myself as I forgot to put suncream on. A part from that a lot of people were enjoying the weather and the beach atmosphere, even some people where swimming or playing in the water. It's definitely worth going there to relax and have a good time. I've met a french woman who was on a visit in Melbourne and she complaint about the different architecture styles in the city that it is way too much, no straight line like in Sydney. I think this is exactly what makes Melbourne special and different and that you discover everywhere something new and not knowing everything is the same.
The day ended with having barbecue at home and Lamington Cake (something typical here) for dessert.
