Costa Rica - Dominical

We continued our journey along the Pacific coast towards the south - next stop: Dominical.

A super small town with perfect surfing conditions, a few very cool cafes and hostels, and even a small 'club' where we ended up one evening with the people from our accommodation and many locals.

However, the next day we had to get up early again because we had a beach cleanup planned that we definitely wanted to participate in. A great experience because the local children had organized the cleanup themselves and regularly meet to keep the town and beaches clean and free of plastic - with success!

As a reward, one of the cafes sponsored a small breakfast of coffee and delicious banana bread for all participants. :-)

In general, we were completely amazed by the environmental awareness of most locals throughout our entire trip. After spending my last few vacation months in Asia, this was a particularly positive and beautiful experience.

In the afternoon, we hitchhiked and then hiked a short distance to the Nauyaca Waterfalls. Another proof of how incredibly beautiful nature is in Costa Rica. The country is practically made up of national parks, so the journey to the 'highlights', like the waterfall in this case, is already absolutely exciting.
