After arriving well in Kil by train, we cycled about 7 km to a campsite. The weather turned rainy in the evening, and in the morning, we could only pack up the tent while it was wet. Then we continued from Kil to Arvika, avoiding the main road by taking a scenic detour along the countryside and lakes. The hills were manageable, with no long, steep climbs. But after not regularly cycling longer distances for 2 weeks, it took its toll, especially on Hanna's knees.
In Arvika, we had to take a pause from cycling due to a thunderstorm, and after the town, we had to ride on a relatively large road in the rain to finally reach Klätten to stay with friends.
This is the base camp from where many canoe trips are organized and supervised. We stayed here for a few days and provided assistance.
