Von Bordeaux nach Bordeaux, Day 16

Wednesday, August 2, 2023, Day 16. Today was our planned home office day and rest day in Bordeaux. A look at the weather app this morning showed that we did everything right and that the rain area followed us to Bordeaux. And so it was, it poured like buckets all morning. Nevertheless, today we rode about 15 km through Bordeaux with our bikes. In the morning, we went to Decathlon (Tom bought a new pair of cycling shorts, Andrea bought a new saddle that is significantly softer and more comfortable than the previous one), then today we found a bike repair station that actually took care of my broken spoke, after we had visited five stations yesterday afternoon that all refused the repair. At noon, in pouring rain, in the middle of Bordeaux with our bikes, we were already satisfied with our accomplishments. We had completed Decathlon and the repair shop and escaped the rain for a salad in a nice brasserie until, as announced, it became less around 2:00 p.m. and the sun came out around 3:00 p.m. After that, we had a very nice day in Bordeaux, sightseeing with our bikes. Tomorrow we will continue south on our bikes, so that we should be shortly before the Spanish border in about 4 days.
