Today the journey continued to Lake Garda. But before we set off there, we wanted to go for a hike in the Gsies Valley with the stroller. We started at the Brückenwirt in Taisten and followed the signposted stroller-friendly path, the Talblickweg. We hiked along the river following the signs. At a junction, the sign suddenly showed a steep path going uphill...so we went uphill with Martin complaining... "This is not a stroller-friendly path!". After a challenging ascent with no end in sight, we came to the conclusion that we had gone the wrong way and turned back. We found the right path and completed our round. After that, we started towards Lake Garda. When we drove from the highway onto the country road, we saw vineyards everywhere. The houses etc. have also changed a lot and now had a southern flair. Arriving at Lake Garda, it became very touristy. The town of Riva del Garda looked like a typical holiday resort. Everywhere there were stands, restaurants, etc. and tourists ;-) Then we continued along the western shore of the lake until we reached our destination San Felice del Benaco. Along the way, we passed through many, many tunnels in the mountains. When we arrived at the "Eden" campsite, there was a steep entrance with a barrier. Since we wanted to ask at the reception first, Martin drove backwards and "bang" there was a bump against a bollard. To Martin's annoyance, the bumper now has a scratch (paint damage) but luckily nothing else happened. Our mobile home is smaller/narrower than expected. We have two bedrooms, each with two beds, a small bathroom with a shower, and a kitchen with a seating area. In front of the mobile home, we have a terrace with a table, chairs, parasol, and clothes rack. Somehow we managed to distribute all our suitcases and bags, there was just no space left for the baby bed. So Juli has to sleep with us in the already narrower double bed...hopefully she won't fall out :-o After a short visit to the reception, we went shopping in the store at the campsite....expensive shopping: milk €1.90, a few slices of bread €2, cheese €2, margarine €2.80, etc. Jette couldn't wait to go swimming. Since swimming caps are mandatory at the pool here, we quickly bought two and she went to the pool with Papa again while Mama Juliane made dinner. The mobile home is very noisy and there's a lot of hustle and bustle on the campsite until late. It's already 22:40 and there's still noise outside. Let's see how the night goes. Luckily, the kids eventually managed to fall asleep.
