BULGARIA, Part 3: Bansko itself

Publisearre: 27.06.2020

Bansko itself has about 8000 inhabitants and is located at an altitude of just over 900 meters. Bansko is quite nice to visit and the Pirin Mountains rising behind the town are really impressive and always very beautiful to look at.

Bansko has long established itself as a tourist hot spot and as a venue for World Cup ski races. Accordingly, this place is also busy during the peak season, and besides locals, Macedonian and a few German tourists, I mainly noticed English tourists.

In many places in the center of Bansko, you can see the inscription 'Mexana' (pronounced: Mehana). This refers to the numerous small and very down-to-earth restaurants and canteens, where you can eat cheaply and really well.

In addition to the charming old town's houses, the 'travel soul' is nourished by the indescribably magnificent view towards the Pirin Mountains, with which I started and want to conclude my picture gallery.
