Cheeesus🧀 work life is really tough (lul), who would have thought.
Dunkeld is like imagining the suburbs of the first season of Stranger Things..👹
There are 5 houses, a public swimming pool (swimming is free from 3-7), a gas station, an old bakery (which we still haven't found), a playground (luckily with a pull-up bar), no sidewalks, 20,000 kangaroos, and in the heart of the town, Izzy's Cafe.🌈 Our place to be, our life for the next 180 days, big Uff.
Our week will consist of working hard and surviving 5-6 days a week for the next few months. If you enjoy working 11-hour shifts in service and kitchen, this is the right place. 😮💨
But it must be said that the food made here in the family business is quite impressive. Many self-grown products are served, otherwise there is classic Australian countryside cuisine and in fact, there are even one or two (okay, maybe just one..) vegan treats. I heard there will be more soon, when Anna takes care of the vegan delicacies. 🦑
Well, what can one say, the people here love their meat,🥩 double burgers🍔, hearty ricotta rolls (Hammer Fresh, you would be in heaven here), thicce burgers, and lamingtons.
This week, Leo shaped about 400 meat pies (400 in total), it only took him about 7 hours, our boss Sam takes about 2.5 hours for that lel. He is now also a pizzaiolo, he has topped so many pizzas. Especially the meat lover's pizzas🍕, what's up with these people who eat a pound of meat on their pizza, even Leo says STOP, there's also VEGETABLES (yes, I know, fruit but...) in the house.🍆
For Anna, the week consisted of a lot of terrible Aussie accent listening comprehension (didn't think there was a reason for it back in school, damn it), making coffee, getting along, and doing 100 things at the same time. The challenge of the week was grilling burgers🥓🫠.
All in all, it was still a good first week, the first paycheck in the account🤑, the rent is paid, and there's food in the fridge, what a feeling.
Now we just need a car (more like a junker with our budget) and let's go. 🛻tschu tschu
