Yesterday I went on the Harley again and visited a few places on the island. First, I went to the Oriental Village and then took the cable car up to the legendary Skybridge. After that, I went to a kind of 3D museum with a small show. Langkawi is considered the tourist hub of Malaysia. However, it is currently low season, which I really like. At times, you feel completely alone. There's no need to queue anywhere and often you're the only one sitting in a restaurant.
After visiting a few beautiful beaches and coincidentally finding a restaurant at the right time, I experienced my first real monsoon rain. My goodness! But I heard that you had a similar experience :-)
Since it's difficult to leave from here, I'm flying back to KL tomorrow and will try to start heading east from there. I had to extend my stay here for one more night because my travel plans weren't well organized. Despite the many crawling insects, I actually find it quite nice here. Especially since my mosquito net and the countless geckos in my room keep most of them away from me. Geckos are my best friends here... except when they keep pooping in my sink all the time!
