I'm back - a new round, a new crazy ride - RIGA

Actually, I didn't want to continue the blog at all during this Eurotrip. But just now I browsed through old posts and somehow I find it nice for myself to enjoy all the cheese with a sparkling wine in my bathtub and let my soul dangle.... lol....

Without a destination and guided by the cheapest flight prices, the first travel destination was RIGA in beautiful Latvia. Just a few weeks ago, someone could have told me that Riga is a region in northern Zimbabwe...and I would have believed it! Latvia was so little present and interesting to me. But with 9.90€ for the flight, I didn't really care where I landed....

The beautiful Old Town of Riga was even more overwhelming. Various architecture, many beautiful churches, cozy cafes and bars.

My cultural interest always initially focuses on the most important thing. Beer. It was even more beautiful that the local, unpronounceable beer 'Valmiermuiža' is absolutely delicious and hopefully can be found somewhere with us. The high-proof national drink is called 'Rigas Melnais balzams'. While I don't like the 'fruity' version, I find the original, which is somewhere between Fernet Branca, Kümmerling and Jägermeister, very successful.
