As the final entry for this trip, I'll show you a little bit of Budapest. After an 8-hour bus ride, I finally arrived and had to get the fourth currency of the trip. Unfortunately, the bus was fully booked, so there was no chance for a relaxed sleep.
Fortunately, the street where my accommodation was located seemed to repeat itself a hundred times, so I initially walked in the wrong direction for 30 minutes. Then, I took the subway back from there.
It's truly a beautiful city that I can recommend to everyone.
I was quite overwhelmed by the Christmas atmosphere in the city center. In addition to a lavish Christmas market (where I got too little food for too much money), the pedestrian zone was already fully immersed in the holiday spirit.
If you're willing to climb a few stairs and slopes, you'll have an incredibly magnificent view of the city from the Fisherman's Bastion, which divides the city in the middle of the Danube.
On Saturday evening, a concert fit into the program. Since the beer was quite tasty here as well, the first half of Sunday was spent in bed.
The conclusion for Budapest was a small boat tour in the evening. The audio guide told us a little bit about the history. Fortunately, it was spoken by a lady from the far east of Germany ;-)
Then it was time to head back to the airport. Berlin brought me back to everyday life.
I can say that I had a wonderful trip, experienced and seen a lot, and the weather played along very well despite the season. I was looking forward to being home and now I'm sitting on my couch with a view of Braunschweig. I'm definitely itching to look for the next flights! Let's see when and where I'll settle next time. :-) I've already taken my beloved backpack out of sight - it's as if it's looking at me with puppy eyes and begging...
PS: Except for Warsaw, I can absolutely recommend every city. My secret gem of these weeks remains... Gdansk!! :-)
