My cycling journey was finally coming to an end. Starting from the campsite in Bogliasco, I rode along the coast for 15-20 kilometers to Genoa. The traffic became heavier a few kilometers before reaching the city center. At the train station, I bought a ticket to Milan, but the options for bike transport were very limited again. I had about 4 hours in Genoa before my train arrived. It was enough time to see some of the city's main attractions by a mix of cycling and walking. First, I went to the old harbor, where you can still see the old city gate called 'porta del molo'. I took a short lunch break, including coffee, at Piazza de Ferrari.
Later, I passed by the famous Basilica on my way back to the main train station. To get to the correct platform, I had to carry everything up and down the stairs, once again in stages. It would be a great idea to have slightly larger elevators at train stations in Italy. At least the trains in Italy seem to be punctual, so I won't complain too much.
