The thin summer clothes are already packed in the travel bag, the excitement is growing, our flight from Munich to Bangkok leaves in 18 days. From what I feel, it will be my last big trip to Asia. Europe and Germany have so many beautiful landscapes, there is a lot of interesting things to discover. Why have the preparations become so much more strenuous for me? Our credit card travel health insurance is only valid for 45 days. “No problem, just take out follow-up insurance,” is her suggestion. Unfortunately, that's not true after I checked with the ADAC and the credit card insurance company by phone. Once you cross the border, you must have travel health insurance for the entire trip. Cancellation and withdrawal insurance is valid for 1 year. So we have now taken out 3 months of insurance online with ADAC, for a total of almost €500 for both of us. Absolutely important, so it gives us the security of being well looked after. Now this item is checked off our long to-do list.
