The many divers and snorkelers we saw during our beach walk yesterday piqued our curiosity, so right after breakfast we borrow a couple of snorkel masks and jump into the water. Not even five minutes later, we return the equipment as both masks have somehow flooded on their own - the opposite of what you would expect.
We go to the bay from yesterday, stop at a small restaurant, and borrow the next pair of masks there, which we have better luck with. In a little over an hour, we cross almost the entire bay and are fascinated by the colorful underwater world. As a snorkeler, you can only imagine the shipwreck that is there (because it is eight meters deep, it gets murky), but you can admire a (very) small sunken temple - however it got there, we suspect it was deliberately sunk and staged as a tourist attraction. We see countless colorful fish, huge blue starfish, and vibrant corals.

Quite exhausted from all the swimming, we doze off on our beach loungers and sip on an ice-cold cola. At some point, we are drawn to the water again and explore the area right in front of our loungers, which we ignored last time.
Often, we are so lost in our thoughts that we almost collide with other equally dreamy snorkelers - but the worst can be avoided.
Our eyes have seen their fill, so we walk back to our accommodation on the beach. The combination of the evening atmosphere, a volcano veiled by clouds, and apocalyptic sun rays offers a breathtaking sight.
We take a few photos, change in our room, and as always, have dinner at the in-house restaurant. We have grilled coconut rice with seafood wrapped in banana leaves (9/10) and sate skewers with peanut sauce (9/10).
Bedtime!
