Rio - Metropolis with serenity

After a peaceful flight, we landed in Rio yesterday morning feeling refreshed. Our accommodation is simply spectacular - we have a direct view of the Sugarloaf Mountain and a beautiful terrace. The pictures reflect this view.

The city itself, the people are incredibly friendly and relaxed - but also passionate. Especially the bus drivers have their own 'lively' driving style. To our surprise, people here don't understand English or Spanish - but that's what hands and the internet translator are for.

The Sugarloaf Mountain offers a great view all around and the Copacabana is a beautiful, very clean, and expensive beach (1 portion of fries €10).

Today we want to go to the beach of Ipanema and to the Botanical Garden.
