One month in Latin America

Julkaistu: 14.10.2019

So now I've been in Cusco for a month. Somehow, you don't really realize it because time sometimes goes by quickly and suddenly it's already October. But let's talk about the events. Last week was language school and my Spanish was still terrible, but at least I could introduce myself, so that was something. Friday was supposed to be very exciting because we went to Tipón. A small town about 40 minutes away from Cusco. I really wanted to see the "Garden of Eden of the Incas". After the bus driver dropped us off at the final stop, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, the others asked me which way we had to go. There was a small problem because I had no idea. I had assumed that it would be right where the bus stops. Oops, I said. We managed to find out where we had to go by asking someone, and a nice taxi driver took us up there. The ride was very... interesting, I would say. I got to sit in the front passenger seat, and the others had to squeeze into the back. It became funny when I realized that the woman had her little baby on her lap and just started driving. On the way, the little mouse tried to expose her mother's breast, apparently she was hungry. I tried to help the mother calm her child down and used a well-known trick. I started the camera on my phone and turned it to the front camera so that the little one could see herself. As expected, it worked very well.

The garden was really beautiful and the view was once again breathtaking. There's not much to say about it because words just don't do it justice.

But actually, there was another reason why we went to Tipón. This place was even more famous for something completely different.

That on the plate is a guinea pig. This delicacy is mainly prepared traditionally in Tipón. I could lie now and say it was worth it, but it wasn't. It was definitely interesting though. However, the guilt feeling came relatively quickly and after three tiny bites, I just wanted to go home. It tastes like chicken but somehow not really. It was also very appetizing that it was served with claws, head, and teeth. Bon appétit.
