Day 29, 01/25/23, from Clanwilliam to Hout Bay
Things don't always go as planned. Overnight, a nasty virus sneaks into Cindy's stomach and continues to cause her discomfort in the morning. Because of this, we have decided to drive towards Cape Town today, as Cindy will unfortunately have to skip the major activities.
I am going on a short one-hour hike to a waterfall and the boulders where climbers' chalk marks are still visible. It's a really interesting area that is worth visiting again.
We drive to Clanwilliam, visit two tea shops, and stock up on Rooibos tea before embarking on our final 270 km journey back to Cape Town.
On this final stretch, the car's snorkel decides to say goodbye in its own way by coming loose from its anchor and waving back and forth until the end of the trip (actually, it was more of a shake and a rattle).
We indulge in our memories, thinking about the many great experiences and impressions, until we are abruptly thrown back into reality by Cape Town's rush hour traffic. But who can say that they come home by seeing Table Mountain, after a unique four-week tour?
A tour full of unexpected but interesting events, with new insights, beautiful landscapes, and endless horizons.
A journey with unique experiences, breathtaking natural spectacles, diverse animal sightings, and the inner gratitude of being able to experience and be allowed to experience such wonders.
It will take some time to internalize everything, but it will definitely not be the last adventure.
To be continued...
