Mendoza- Maggi gets new Zapatos

Julkaistu: 04.07.2017

On the way from Cordoba to Mendoza, we noticed at a police checkpoint that our brakes were smelling. So we had to pull over again and assess the situation. Kai's diagnosis: the front brake pads optimistic look still have 1 mm lining. Silke's expert solution: We need new brake pads immediately. In retrospect, finding the right place was pretty straightforward. In our search, we also got hold of a 20 liter barrel of the finest 15W40 engine oil. Despite the busy time at the Freno (Spanish for brakes) workshop, Mechanico Daniel still gave us an appointment for the next day. We spent the waiting time in the supermarket and in a laundromat. The new pads, called Zapatos in Spanish (shoes), were installed within a morning and we headed to Maipu.

There, we took an exhilarating bike tour to various wineries and an olive oil factory. And after the bike rental, we had a happy hour with craft beer and red wine, which was called "Loco Loco" (Crazy).
