Great Belt BridgeDay 2 is here and for us it means heading to Denmark over the Great Belt Bridge and straight to Copenhagen.Originally, we wanted to stay at a motorhome parking lot right at the harbor, but many others had the same idea.So we quickly changed our plans and had to search a bit longer for a place to sleep. Luckily, we are flexible and decide to choose a parking spot at the other end of the city. This will prove to be a very good decision for our onward journey to Sweden on Day 3.
More on that later... today we just want to shower, eat, and sleep... because even though we're in the north, it's extremely hot here...
We start the third day of our trip with a hearty breakfast at our campsite, and then we set off to explore Copenhagen.
Our first stop is Copenhagen's National Aquarium ˋDen Blå Planetˋ.
It is highly recommended to plan this attraction in the morning, as there is usually an overwhelming number of visitors.
At the National Aquarium, visitors can see a giant ocean tank with stingrays, smaller sharks, and giant turtles. It's truly impressive to stand in front of the large glass pane and see a shark swimming directly towards you.
One must definitely observe the sea otter couple, who clearly enjoy the attention of the audience and present themselves extensively.
Den Blå Planet We take the opportunity to leave our motorhome in the parking lot for a small fee and take the metro to the city center. NyhavnAmalienborg Palace Exploring Copenhagen in extremely hot temperatures, we simply let ourselves be carried away by the city. There is something to see on every corner. The people of Copenhagen mainly move around by bicycle and in this city, which is very cosmopolitan and lively, they have many options to do so. To overcome the final hurdle to Sweden, we drive across the Øresund Bridge to Malmö in the evening. After this very hot day in the city, we drive to a beautiful stretch of beach behind Malmö and go swimming in the Baltic Sea for the first time on this vacation.After a short drive, we reach our sleeping spot for the night at a forest parking lot in the middle of Skåne.
