A great tradition in Zeeland and something that can be experienced in almost every village in the summer: ring riding.
A rider, on the back of a galloping bareback horse, tries to impale with a spear a small brass ring dangling from a stand in the air. The ring initially has a diameter of 38 mm and becomes smaller and smaller over the course of the competition (up to 10 mm).
The riders traditionally wear white clothing with an orange sash over the right shoulder, the leading rider also wears a green sash over the left shoulder.
